Jim and Gwen are wonderful hosts, with lots of good travel advice. We enjoyed fresh grapefruit and other fruits from the backyard. The area is quiet, secure, but expect heavy winds and rain squalls that quickly pass over. Hodges beach below is down a bunch of steps, and is unspoiled. This location was great for us to drive to all of the northern island hikes, waterfalls, and other sites. It's just 15 minutes from Melville Hall airport.
