Calibishie is a small town with a few bars, restaurants, convenience stores, and one or two smaller hotels. There's nice light and black sand beaches in the area, but not all are good for swimming. Being the Atlantic, it's generally more windy, more rain squalls, with bigger waves. The Pointe Baptiste area is interesting with it's red spongy clay base. Just north of Melviille Hall airport is a nice black sand beach. The crabs have developed an amazing camouflage shell.
