Fred invited us to the base for drinks at the officer's mess. We met air controllers, aircraft technicians, and search and rescue soldiers that Fred flies missions with. All great guys, and funny stories from the last 20 years at Goose Bay. Fred took us on a tour of his squadron's hanger, where the helicopters are serviced, the soldiers work out (they have to be ready for mountain climbing, jumping in the Labrador Sea, and long hikes), and Fred's and the commander's offices.
